Samsung Galaxy S10 and the LG G8 both are expected to launch in the first half of 2019. These 2019 flagships from the tier-1 brands are the same in certain ways and differ in some aspects. Let us see what they have in common and what they don’t.
Samsung Galaxy S10
The trio of smartphones as rumored will possibly have the beasty power in terms of processing with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or the Samsung Exynos 9820 which are announced but not yet released. For memory, Samsung should equip the lower models with 4 Gb of RAM and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus with 6 Gb of RAM. Storage must start with 64 Gb and options of 128 and 256 Gb will be present.
We already have rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus to house massive 5 cameras in it. 3 on the rear and 2 for selfies. Though the lower variant will not have the same amount of sensor. Samsung is coming up with an under the screen fingerprint scanner with the Samsung Galaxy S10 series and it is said to use Ultrasonic waves to enhance speed, security, and reliability. The cheaper variant of the trio which will make its debut this generation is said to have a side mounted fingerprint reader instead of under display to save on the price.
The LG G8 or the LG G8 thing (following the new moniker as seen in LG G7 ThinQ and LG V35 ThinQ) should be a leap ahead to lock horns with capable flagships in the market. No doubts LG G8 will have the best mobile processor from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 855. What we are not sure about is the choice of RAM and storage options. Following track record, it should be 6 Gb + 64 Gb to start with.
LG with the G7 ThinQ moved to a new tech for the display called MLCD+ and also came out with the infamous notch. Rumors and market analysis now say LG which is also a display manufacturer is working on a new display tech for the upcoming flagship and might even come out with a 4k resolution screen.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Vs LG G8
As we all know the internals of almost every flagship within a given year has nothing to differ from as there is not much option to play around. They both share the same processor and have almost the same amounts of memory and storage options.
The big picture is the display, eventually, both companies are displaying manufactures themselves and they are in fact the top companies in the whole industry. Samsung specializes in AMOLED and sure will have the most beautiful ever display in a smartphone for Samsung Galaxy S10 while LG is working to bring a more efficient display to get rid of the notch. Also, rumors tease introduction of the 4k screen of the LG G8.
Optics are certainly gonna differ. Till now we have not heard anything close to Samsung’s 5 camera setup. In the security department to LG lags. Samsung is said to debut their under the display fingerprint reader and already has IRIS scanner and stuff while LG G8 has no fancy biometrics than the usual fingerprint reader.
We are still half a year ahead of these smartphones coming to life and the situation can change to any extent provided the volatility of the smartphone industry.
