The Samsung Galaxy S10 has been released and therefore it has been pretty much known by every Android and Samsung fan about all of its features and the performance numbers as well. But the one feature that still users do want to come back to their favorite Samsung Galaxy smartphone is the IR or the Infrared Blaster. Infrared Blaster in a smartphone allows users to
control any public device that runs on an infrared sensor – like public televisions, air conditioners in a restaurant, etcetera.
Samsung has always been at the forefront of emerging technology and bringing it to the users. Every year, the sales of Samsung smartphones always remain on top, especially with the flagship series like Galaxy S series and the Galaxy Note series. This year, the Galaxy S10 is no different, and Samsung has put all of its resources in line to make this gorgeous looking smartphone, with a couple of cool features.
Has Samsung done enough innovation with the Samsung Galaxy S10?
Now that the Samsung Galaxy S10 and all its version have been launched – it is now time to do the in-depth review of the same. First of all, the Samsung S10 has been the first smartphone in the Galaxy S series to come with a punched camera on the front of the display. There is no such notch or pop-up selfie camera on the front of the display. You can only find the punched the hole came on the top right corner of the Galaxy S10 devices.
The next big innovation done by the company is the use of the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, for the first time on any smartphone in the world. The phone uses ultrasonic waves to detect your fingerprint, and therefore can even work when the screen is off – which is not the case for companies like OnePlus, Oppo and Vivo, who have done a similar implementation on their
smartphones, but in a different way. The only disadvantage for this technology is that – if the glass gets scratched heavily, then ultrasonic fingerprint scanner will not work.
Samsung has also used dynamic AMOLED displays in their smartphones, instead of normal Super AMOLED panels that they have been using for so long.
Finally, the last one on the list is the camera setup and the amount of RAM that these Galaxy S10 models come with. The highest Samsung Galaxy S10+ comes with almost 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage – which is quite frankly unheard of. And the next feature is the triple camera setup on the rear and the dual camera setup on the front of a Samsung Galaxy S10+. Samsung
truly outdid themselves this time around.
So, no IR Blaster on the Samsung Galaxy S10?
Yes, you are 100 percent right. The last Samsung phone that sported an IR Blaster was the Galaxy S6. After 2014, there has been no Samsung flagship smartphone that had an IR Blaster which can be pretty disappointing for many users, who still use the feature. As of the current date, the Samsung Galaxy S10 and all its variants don’t support IR Blaster.
Even though companies like Xiaomi is providing IR BLaster feature on their smartphones, it is still pretty weird to see Samsung dropping such a feature in a flagship phone that starts at $749.99. Anyways, hopefully, the general customer will be happy with all the different features Samsung has provided this time with the Galaxy S10.
