The question of waterproofing has stayed in the customer’s mind for quite some time now because it is 3 years since we have water resistant flagships and no brand has taken the daring step to declare their product waterproof.
With Samsung Galaxy Note 9 around the corners and most of the rumors indicating it to be an improvised version of the previous generation, enthusiasts who were expecting big have turned their interest towards the next year’s Samsung Galaxy S10. This smartphone is not seeing the surface until Q1 2019, still, we already have plenty of talk about it. Not just it is the 10th iteration of the series but also that Samsung has already reserved some pretty interesting features for the S10.
Samsung Galaxy S10 – All You Need to Know
Brands have already started to join the bandwagon of under the display fingerprint scanner, mainly tier two brands like Vivo and Oppo but Samsung, as we heard from rumors, is taking their sweet time and saving it for the Samsung Galaxy S10. The rumor also stated Samsung is not doing like others, they are working to put on an ultrasonic fingerprint reader for improved accuracy and efficiency.
Samsung, though from unofficial sources, have confirmed the Samsung Galaxy S10 too will not have a notched display. All notch haters out there get ready to embrace the Samsung Galaxy S10. Another good news is the phone will come in three variants similar to the iPhone 2018 line up. One regular, other plus variant and the last is the cheaper variant with some corners cut off. The display size of the regular and plus variant must be 5.8 and 6.44 inches as rumored.
Market analysts claim the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus will be the first smartphone to sport five lenses- two in the front and three on the rear. Remember the Huawei P20 Pro which leaped smartphone photography to a whole new level with its triple camera setup. Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus will be ahead of it with a 12 MP primary shooter, 12 MP tele focus and a 16 MP wide-angle sensor. The regular variant should possibly house a dual rear and single front camera while the cheaper will have the obvious single lens for both rear and front.
Will the Samsung Galaxy S10 be water resistant or waterproof?
Smartphones by far have only been water resistance, that is the brand guarantees the smartphone is resistant to water splashes and accidental drop into the water. But has never provided a warranty against water damage. The difference is minor but the terms are wide apart. The Samsung Galaxy S10 taking lead to the market in various aspects can also push the limits and offer to waterproof which will be a great breakthrough in the smartphone industry.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S9 had the highest Ingress Protection rating possible so there is a good chance we might see a waterproof phone in 2019. Phones getting rid of as much of ports and buttons also favors the theory of waterproofing. It is a long way to the release of Samsung Galaxy S10 until then fingers crossed.
