October 29, 2015 | Amit Arora

The Galaxy S8 battery life could vary tremendously on the battery capacity and the various battery saving optimizations made on a software and hardware level, so whilst we can’t give you a definite answer on the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy S8, we can still give you an idea of what you can expect.

Below, we take an indepth look at the latest rumors surrounding the Galaxy S8 battery specs including the full capacity, hours, and all that you can handle.

Galaxy S8 Battery Life – In Capacity

Although we can’t say for sure, it’s expected that the battery capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S8 could be over 4,000mAh. We’re expecting to see a 4,000mAh battery capacity in the Galaxy S8, but we could see slightly more than that. It would be disappointing to see less than the 4,000mAh mark, but if we did, Samsung may be able to make up for it in the battery saving department.

Thankfully there are a lot of optimizations that can be made on a software level to reduce system resources but you can also optimize hardware such as the processor and the GPU to increase battery life when a smartphone is performing different tasks.

Galaxy S8 Battery Life – In Hours

With that information in mind, what kind of number can we expect to see from the Galaxy S8 battery life in terms of hours?

If we take a look at standby time, a rough estimate would have us guessing that the battery life could last between 500 and 700 hours. Call time should hopefully be between 30 and 60 hours, although we can’t really say for sure until battery tests are in. Music playback time could come close to 100 hours. It’s hard to accurately predict battery tests with limited information so please take this information with a healthy grain of salt.

Nothing Set in Stone

Like mentioned above, none of these figures, including the standby time and the battery capacity are confirmed at this point. This information is only based on the latest rumors so it’s down to you to make your own judgment. Let’s hope that Samsung comes out soon with a press release so that we can sure more information with you.

For now, why not consider some of the expected launch accessories you will want to consider when the S8 launches early 2017.
