This year is about to end within a few weeks now, and as a result, the rumors about next year’s Galaxy S smartphone have started to come out. Samsung Galaxy S9 will be Samsung’s first flagship product for next year, so it’s obvious to see the rumors about it now. Since Galaxy S series also has a sizeable customer base in India, a large number of Samsung’s Indian fans are also waiting for this device. Many of them want to have an idea about the price and release date of this phone, so they can start saving immediately. If you’re also one of those people, we’re here to help you out. So we are to take look at the Samsung Galaxy S9 price and release date in India.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Rumored Specs
Before we can guess the possible price of Samsung Galaxy S9 in India it’s important to take a look on the possible specs of this device. Rumors are suggesting that Galaxy S9 will come with a dual-lens camera that may be much better than the one that we saw in Galaxy Note 8.
It’s being said that this time camera will have both lenses aligned vertically instead of the horizontal setup (just like iPhone X) and it will be capable of capturing 1,000 images per second. The megapixel count of both lenses is not known yet, but since S8 had a 12mp primary camera we can expect at least 12mp dual-lens camera setup to be a part of this phone.
Other expected specs include either Exynos 9810 or Snapdragon 845 SoC, 4GB RAM, 5.8-inch Infinity display, 8mp secondary camera and Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. The fingerprint sensor will be present on the back of the phone, but Samsung is also working on improving its iris scanners in order to compete with facial recognition of iPhone X.
Keep these specs in mind, now we can take a look on the possible price of Samsung Galaxy S9 in India.
Samsung Galaxy S9 India Price and Release Date
We expect that Galaxy S9 will be launched around 60,000 INR in India. The device may be launched at the time of global release, which will happen sometime in January or February. January is more probable though because it has been heard that Samsung wants to launch its S9 earlier than expected to counter iPhone X. An early launch is also more logical because after Galaxy S9 Samsung also has a much anticipated Galaxy X in works, which is rumored to be a bendable smartphone.
