If you thought the unique Edge concept was a thing of the past, then you have yet to hear the Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge is coming. Samsung’s Edge concept has turned out to be one of the hottest smartphone concepts on the market, and the 3rd generation Galaxy S Edge model is believed to be better than ever.
Samsung sounds like their going market the Galaxy S8 Edge heavily just before the launch which is expected for Q1 of 2017. We’re hearing plenty of rumors on the specs which will be similar to the standard S8 which will debut at the same time. Both variants will improve on the visuals, processing power, and overall speed of the new handset.
Rumors on the Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge specs include a 5.2” display with a 4K resolution, 6GB RAM, and a new Exynos chipset. It’s rumored Samsung will offer two processors in their Galaxy S8 lineup with a Qualcomm variant in the standard model and a new Exynos processor in both the S8 Edge and S8 Edge Plus.
The 5.2” Galaxy S8 Edge display is believed to boast a resolution of 4096 x 2160. All S8 variants are believed to feature a 4K display which will become the resolution of choice for high-end handsets. The high resolution will be comparable to high-end TV’s giving users the best visuals offered on any smartphone.
Besides the visuals, the processing power will be set up by 6GB RAM and the Exynos chipset. Samsung has been building its own processors, and the new chipset is expected to be significantly faster, more efficient, and significantly increase multi-tasking capabilities. The processing power will function seemlessly alongside the new Galaxy S8 features which are rumored to include a retina eye scanner, Gorilla Glass 5, and a 3D camera.
