Early rumors on the US launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge are coming in, and consumers will be happy to know what’s coming. Both the S8 and S8 Edge will become available to the public starting in April of 2017 with those of us here in the US being one of the first markets. New information suggests both the S8 Edge and US Samsung Galaxy S8 launch will start mid-April for only $850.
This will be a welcomed surprise as some analysts have been forecasting a higher launch US Samsung Galaxy S8 price than the current models with more expected to be packed into both the S8 and S8 Edge. The Edge variant will likely cost slightly more, but even at $900 for the full purchase price, most of us won’t mind at all.
Early 2017 smartphone rumors have been suggesting a premium price tag for the higher end smartphones with some topping the $1000 price mark. When looking at other manufacturers like Xiaomi, Lenovo, and Asus, it’s almost hard to fathom with new flagship smartphones being launched for under $500 while featuring similar specs. Xiaomi is looking to become known worldwide while looking to compete with some of the more known manufacturers in a very competitive market.
The US launch of the Galaxy S8 will be followed by the debut in most Asian markets including South Korea, China, Thailand, and others. The much anticipated S8 and S8 Edge is expected to be much better than the S6 and S7, and is rumored to feature a 4K 3D enabled screen. The S8 is believed to be 5.2 inches while the premium Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge will be slightly larger at 5.3 inches. Both should feature a resolution of 4.96 x 2160 which could be the first in its class.
