The Samsung Galaxy S8 is already drawing a lot of interest which is amazing considering it’s still a ways until it becomes a reality. The Galaxy S series has become one of the most anticipated product launches each and every year, and in the UK consumers are already looking forward to the 2017 GS8 lineup.
Early rumors on the UK Samsung Galaxy S8 release date suggests it will follow the launch in Korea. With an official unveiling expected early Q1 of 2017, consumer availability in the UK could come as early as mid-February. This is pretty consistent with the launch in other larger markets around the world including the US, Canada, and Germany.
The UK launch is already garnering a lot of attention as huge innovations are expected. We’re hearing of three big possibilities that could debut in all three variants including the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Edge, and larger Galaxy S8 Edge Plus.
We’ve been getting lots of questions on the possibility of eye sensing technology, 3D display, and 4K resolution. While nothing’s been made official regarding the specs of the S8, all three are being leaked across all three variants. The 3D display is believed to be user controlled which means 2D and 3D viewing is optional.
Eye sensing technology is one of the biggest trends that are being rumored in many upcoming flagships in 2017. We’ve seen this sort of technology in smartphones in limited fashion, but has yet to be featured in flagship handsets. Either a retina or iris scanner could be featured along with a fingerprint scanner for superior security. With the wave of mobile payments taking off in recent years, a Galaxy S8 eye scanner makes a lot of sense.
We all know it’s only a matter of time before Sammy ups the display in all of their flagships to a true 4K resolution. Sony claims the first as seen in the launch of the Xperia Z5, and it sounds like all versions of the Galaxy S8 will feature a true 4K resolution.
What’s even more amazing is the early rumors on the UK Samsung Galaxy S8 price. With everything you see above packed in including an increase in size of all three variants. With a launch price expected to be £545 for the standard S7, £575 for the S7 Edge, and upwards of £600 for the premium S7 Edge Plus. All of the top UK carriers will likely feature the launch including Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse.
