Samsung Galaxy S7 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow Pre-Installed

It’s sounding like Samsung is looking to pack in all the new feature in the upcoming Galaxy S7 including Google’s new Marshmallow operating system. Android 6.0 is about to be launched on new Nexus handsets, and most of the upcoming 2016 smartphones will have Marshmallow just in time for final production.

This should be the same for all 2016 Galaxy S7 variants including the S7, S7 Edge, S7 Active, and S7 Edge Plus which looks to be the larger, premium variant. Coming pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow is great news for consumers as the S6 and most other flagships had to wait quite a while before being updated to Android 5.1.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Android 6.0 operating system is expected to be up and running, and hopefully without any carrier issues. Once Google releases 6.0 to the manufacturer, a couple of tweaks are made before it’s passed on to carriers for the final touches. The operating system is then typically passed onto owners via an OTA install which is downloaded, and installed onto the phone itself.

If Marshmallow does come preinstalled on all GS7 variants as expected, the time lapse between the carrier rollout and reaching the consumer is ultimately mitigated. Hopefully, this will mean a much a better experience than we seen with Lollipop.

Consumers will also be happy to know that all variants of the GS7 will be coming with Qualcomm’s new 820 SoC which is said to be faster, handle more processes, and be much more efficient than the 808 and 810 processor. Of course, the processor seen is contingent in the area as some handsets by geography will come equipped with Samsung’s own Exynos chipst.

Besides the operating system and processor, expect to see a 5.2″ display, fingerprint scanner, 4-5GB RAM, and at least a 20MP rear camera.
