Don’t be Surprised if the Samsung Galaxy S8 Launches Worldwide Months Earlier than Expected

August 12, 2015 | Amit Arora

Smartphone manufacturers have been pretty predicable with the launch cycles as seen in recent years from the all of the top one’s, but Sammy is looking to a new production methodology to sort of shake things up with the Galaxy S8. We’ve been reporting the expected Samsung Galaxy S8 launch will be in early Q2 of, but new leaks suggest something new is brewing.

Samsung has been manufacturing phones using a methodology called “waterfall”, but the new “agile methodology” looks to be more creative, and much more responsive. The former method consisted of only making changes after during the testing phase and just before the actual launch, but the new method allows Sammy to make changes throughout the production process.

In essence, this change will allow developers to make changes without having to go back and change too much of the overall concept. Problems that arise in real-time can be implemented in individual modules which will be employed throughout the production process instead of only at the end of the production process. The responsive nature is expected to speed up the overall production times of both models within the S series including the standard and popular Edge variant.

The new agile methodology is expected to be fully deployed within the development of both the Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge. It’s expected to be first used within the production of the upcoming Galaxy S7 which some believe will significantly move up the release date. With early rumors suggesting a post-MWC launch worldwide, many believe it will be months before at the CES event in January.

It’ll be interesting to see if Sammy is able to come through as expectations are already growing significantly for an earlier than expected launch. A pre-holiday launch would be nice, but this is a stretch that probably won’t come true, but an early 2016 Samsung Galaxy S8 launch is quite realistic.

Other rumors we’ve been hearing are once again seeing carrier specific launch colors for both the S8 and S8 Edge. We’ve seen this with both S6 models, and will once again see this with both S7 models. We’ll continue to update you on the worldwide Galaxy S7 launch confirmations and rumors as soon as we get more.
