Samsung Galaxy S8 Design Rumors – What We’re Likely to See

October 30, 2015 | Amit Arora

In this article we shall be discussing some new rumors on the Galaxy S8 design that have been circulating for a while. It’s expected that Samsung won’t be dropping their new design scheme that they announced with the Galaxy S6, so things will mostly be the same.

Small changes will be made to ensure a more comfortable experience, especially in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge, but besides this, things will be the same. One thing that sounds certain, expect Sammy to go with a new metal composite which will make the outer body much more durable and lighter which will be made official in the new drop tests. This is something that has been lacking in previous Galaxy S handsets, and sounds to be a thing of the past in the new and refine Samsung Galaxy S8 design.

Glass and Metal

The S6 and the Galaxy S7 both have a very clear design formula – the frame of the smartphones are made out of sturdy metal, whilst the back and front are made from sleek, clean cut glass. There are currently no Galaxy S8 design rumors to suggest that Samsung won’t be following the same glass and metal design with the S8.

Unibody

Yes, Samsung has had removable batteries for a long, long time, but since the move to the Galaxy S6’s new design, unibody is here to stay. That doesn’t mean there won’t be the potential for a microSD slot – this will most likely be paired with the SIM tray. As for the battery – this will be locked in place in exchange for a sturdier, solid device that looks and feels incredible.

No Smudges?

The glass on the back of the Samsung Galaxy S6 caused trouble for smudges – hopefully Samsung will consider changing things up to ensure that smudges aren’t such an issue on the Samsung Galaxy S8. Hopefully the glass on the back of the Galaxy S8 will be just as sturdy as the glass found protecting the smartphone display.

It could be possible that Samsung could change up the game with the Samsung Galaxy S8 design, but we’re expecting to see a fairly familiar device when it the S8 is unveiled in early 2017.
