Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge Plus Release Date Rumors Suggest September 2017

November 11, 2025 | Amit Arora

Despite the fact there’s still plenty of time until we hear something official out of Samsung, it doesn’t stop the numerous rumor surrounding the 2017 launch of the Galaxy S8. We’re already hearing rumors on multiple variants that will all be released worldwide including the standard S8, S8 Edge, S8 Active, and new Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge Plus release date rumors.

The latest are quite intriguing, but they make sense considering the popularity of the S Edge model, and huge consumer interest is only expected to increase with upcoming launches. The worldwide phenomenon on the Galaxy S Edge series looks to be spinning off a brand new variant that will have many similarities to its little brother.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge Plus will share similar specs and features as the S8 Edge, but will be slightly bigger. It’s believed to be launched around the same time as the Galaxy Note 7 in September of 2017, and just before the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus.

The Galaxy S8 Edge Plus specs are rumored to feature a Qualcomm octa-core processor clocked at 3.2GHz, dual mico SD card slots, 28 MP rear camera, 8.1 MP front camera 4000 mAh battery, and a new form of Gorilla Glass screen protection. Also rumored is a retina eye sensor for added security and complete integration with many peripherals such as Samsung’s virtual reality headset and many apps including Android Auto and mobile payment Android Apps.

The biggest defining factor that will differentiate the S8 Edge Plus from the S8 Edge will be the larger screen which is expected to be a 5.6” display. It’ll be interesting to see how amazing the visuals will be on the larger 4K display if the resolution is truly 4096 x 2160.
