Below, we take a closer look at the expected cost of all versions of the Galaxy S8 including the SIM free, on-contract, and off-contract pricing.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Cost

The Samsung Galaxy S7 was released at around £599 in the UK and $650 in the United States. Although the price of the Galaxy S7 is constantly going to drop over time, we should focus on the launch prices and use this information to help us work out how much the Samsung Galaxy S8 cost will be.

Cost of the SIM Free Samsung Galaxy S8

So on SIM free, you’re looking at paying around $650 for the base model of the Galaxy S8. For $650, you should be able to get a 64GB model. With this same logic, at $750 you’ll be able to pick up the 128GB model and for $850 Samsung fans will be able to purchase a 256GB Samsung Galaxy S8.

It’s important to note that these prices only take the standard S8 into consideration. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge will cost a considerable amount more than the standard version, and each storage variant of the Edge will also be expected to cost an extra $100.

Cost of the Galaxy S8: Contract

What about if you don’t want to get the S8 on a SIM free deal? If you are planning to get the Galaxy S8 in contract, you’ll definitely be able to save some money up front, but the long term cost will certainly be more.

If we take the standard 64GB model of the Galaxy S8, you should be looking at spending around $200 for the smartphone on contract. The monthly cost could be upwards of $50, but this depends on what kind of network deal you choose. The full purchase Samsung Galaxy S8 cost will be around $1400 if you take the initial price and the monthly price over the 24 month contract into consideration. These numbers are of course a very rough estimate, but the real prices will be in a fairly close price range.
