Samsung Galaxy S7 Front Camera with Eye Sensing Technology

September 26, 2015 | Richard Dunn

New Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors on eye sensing technology is at the forefront once again, and this time it’s being primed for the Galaxy S7. We’ve been hearing eye scanners will be built into the next generation smartphones, but nobody knows when except for the manufacturers. Now we’re hearing about the possibility of Samsung making this a reality with their new lineup of Galaxy S smartphones launching in 2016.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and all versions including the S7, S7 Edge, and the Galaxy S7 Edge Plus are rumored to feature eye sensing technology. As of this time there’s been no confirmation although we believe it’s more practical for the 2017 Galaxy S8 instead of the S7.

Eye scanners have been seen in limited fashion with Fujitsu out of Japan having their go at it earlier this year. With rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S7 front camera will support dual function as a camera and iris scanner in one is intriguing to say the least. Besides improving security, an eye scanner would also allow for more secure mobile payments that could be used with both Samsung Pay and Android Pay.

The fingerprint scanner seen in the S6 will likely return in the S7 making it one of the most secure handsets on the market. The fingerprint scanner will work in unison with an iris scanner making the S7 totally secure from would-be users. Giving owners the peace of mind is what eye sensing technology would do for smartphones, and it’s sounding like Samsung is almost there.
