Samsung typically throws us a surprise or two with the launch of their new flagship models, and we’re hearing there may be a few up their sleeve with the Galaxy S8. It sounds like some new and unique features are on the way that will make their way into the concepts of the S8, S8 Edge, and S8 Edge Plus that will rival that of any other smartphone launched in 2017.

Rumors on the new and improved Samsung Galaxy S8 features include a retina eye scanner, Gorilla Glass 5, and 3D camera which are what consumers are hoping to see. With the new trends of technology already in place, we’re expecting to see new innovations such as eye sensing technology, new indestructible screens, and true 3D viewing in the next generation smartphones.

Probably the single most unique feature of the Galaxy S8 will be the retina eye scanner. With consumers turning to Android and Samsung Pay, integrating eye sensing technology makes checkout faster, easier, and much more secure. The eye scanner would also improve the phone’s internal security while truly making locking and unlocking the S8 user specific.

The other feature which is expected to debut is a true 3D camera. 3D smartphone camera technology isn’t exactly a new trend, but true 3D cinematography is. There are numerous apps in the Android suppository that will give you similar 3D effects, but lack the quality and user controls that we’re hearing will be in the Galaxy S8 features.

A 3D camera is likely to be compatible with still-photos, video recording, and playback. This would work great side by side with the rest of the camera specs which are rumored to include a 30MP rear and 8MP front camera.
