Samsung Galaxy S8 Screen Size and Resolution – The Details

Can we safely guess what the Samsung Galaxy S8 screen size and resolution will be? We believe that we can make an estimate guess based on what the rest of the smartphone industry will be doing, and what Sammy has done in the past. The previous model brought forth three variants with distinc features including the screen size and resolution.

Expected Samsung Galaxy S8 Screen Size

At this point, the 5.2 inch display found on previous flagship smartphones is looking to stay around for a long time. 5.2 inches as far as a display can go before it becomes a little too large and enter phablet territory. Larger displays will be available on devices like the Note 7 or the Galaxy S8 Edge Plus.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 screen size is unlikely to be anything other than 5.2 inches – we believe that this is a great size for viewing entertainment and media, whilst also being utilized for basic web browsing, texting and instant messaging.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Resolution

Samsung won’t be looking to skip out on the screen resolution this year, that’s for sure. Although it’s not 100% guaranteed, we don’t see why Samsung won’t up the screen resolution on the Samsung Galaxy S8 to 4K. This will mean we’ll see a 4096 x 2160 resolution on the Galaxy S8 – if Samsung are smart they’ll adopt the same technology as Sony which will allow the device to downscale to lower resolutions when non-4K content is being viewed. Downscaling resolution will help users to save battery despite the new GS8 battery specs whilst keeping 4K viewing as good as it can possibly be.

Samsung Display Technology on the Galaxy S8

Over the last five years, Samsung has been glued to using AMOLED displays and it’s very, very likely that the Samsung Galaxy S8 panel will also be an AMOLED. Samsung has always held onto very color accurate displays with amazing contrast – outside viewing may not be the best compared to the alternative but the difference in 2017 will be negligible.
