With the newest flagship from Samsung soon to be unveiled, we’re getting plenty of leaks coming in to suggest what to expect. With Sammy’s concept of creating a flagship concept that’s sure to rival the rest of the competition, all eyes turn to the upcoming Galaxy S7.
The specs of the Samsung Galaxy S7 display aren’t going to be as much of an improvement to the Galaxy S6 when compared to other new releases, but there will still be some subtle changes. Below, we take a closer look at the GS7 display size, resolution, color reproduction, and a comparison with the Galaxy S7 Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Display Size
The official Samsung Galaxy S7 display specs sheet may not differ that much when compared to the S6, especially when it comes to size. In fact, the S7 display is likely to either be 5.1 inches, just like the S6 or maybe 5.2 inches. It is unlikely that Samsung would increase the size of the Galaxy S7 that much.
Going any larger than 5.2 inches puts you into phablet territory and it would cut out a large portion of users that prefer 4.5-5 inch displays. Sometimes bigger isn’t always better, and that’s definitely the case with 5 inch displays.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Display Resolution and Color Reproduction
The Galaxy S7 display will definitely at least have a 2K resolution but it is possible that it could have a 4K panel, especially considering the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium sports such a display. Honestly we doubt Samsung would opt for the 4K panel because 2K is more than enough. As it currently stands, there isn’t really enough 4K content available for it to be a viable feature for Samsung to include.
What about other elements of the GS7 display? In the past, Samsung’s displays have always been very good at providing accurate, colorful results and the Galaxy S7 is likely to be an improvement from previous releases. We may see the most color accurate display we’ve ever seen on a smartphone with the Galaxy S7. This includes an unmeasurable contrast ratio, incredible color accuracies and a very balanced display that does not have an unnecessary cold blue hue like other smartphones displays have.
Galaxy S7 Edge Display Vs. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
We’re really curious to compare the Galaxy S7 Edge with the standard S7 display. It’s most likely that the Edge will have very similar display quality, but we can’t help but wonder if there will be any differences.
