Whilst we can’t be sure on everything in this article, we’ve taken a look at the rumored Samsung Galaxy S7 specs and laid out what we expect to see. Because there’s no solid confirmation behind them, rumors should always be taken with a pinch of salt. With that being said, a lot of this information does come from some fairly reputable sources.
Samsung Galaxy S7 CPU, GPU and RAM
Although the Samsung Galaxy S6 did come with an Exynos processor in all of it’s variants, part of the rumored Samsung Galaxy S7 specs include a Snapdragon 820 processor. The 820 features a quad core CPU which does perform better than the Exynos 7420.
In the GPU department, we may see an Adreno 530 if Samsung go with the Snapdragon 820 route. The Adreno 530 does have some performance improvements from it’s predecessors but it’s main area of improvement is in the battery saving capabilities. We should expect to see 4GB of RAM in the S7, but we may get 3GB.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Camera
If Samsung opt for the Snapdragon 820 processor, there’s no reason to doubt the appearance of a 25 megapixel camera on the Galaxy S7. When compared to it’s competitors, it’ll be hard to say who will come out on top in terms of raw camera performance, but Samsung has always done a great job at releasing great smartphone cameras.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Battery
The battery capacity of a smartphone is an area that often gets overlooked when compared to other hardware improvements. Fortunately, software optimization allows batteries to last longer in new generation smartphones. With Android 6.0, we’ll see some improvements in battery life, but the rumored Samsung Galaxy S7 specs also suggest that the actual battery capacity will be improved too. I doubt we’ll see a battery capacity of 4,000mAh or more, but something just slightly below that is a lot more realistic.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Waterproof
We’re also hearing rumors that all S7 variants will be waterproof. This is one of the biggst rumors as previous models have featured the waterproof only model in the rugged model, but this seems to be a thing of the past. The Galaxy S6 Active debuted not only with the rugged design, but an IP68 rating making it waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof. It’s uncertain if we’ll see a S7 Active at all, but we’re looking forward to the waterproof features of the Galaxy S7.
