India Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Release Date and Price, Confirmed

February 22, 2016 | Amit Arora

Both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 release date and price have been confirmed as yesterday’s Mobile World Congress annual event in Barcelona, and as all eyes turn to consumer availability it’s time to disclose what Indians have been waiting to see. After weeks of speculation, the official announcement surprised no one as the most innovative Android smartphone manufacturer introduced not one, but two masterpieces.

The official unveiling brought forth what is certain to be two of the hottest smartphone launches of 2016, and as Samsung gets ready for an international release it’s impossible not to get excited. With a worldwide release date confirmed for March 11th in many larger markets around the world including the US, UK, China, and many more, it won’t be much longer before both the S7 and S7 Edge debut in India.

Although it’s yet to be made official, both the S7 Edge and India Samsung Galaxy S7 release date are expected to start the last week in March. This is pretty consistent with previous launches in the Galaxy S series with availability in the India market typically three to four weeks after the launch.

Those looking to purchase a new Galaxy S7 in India can expect to pay around Rs. 51000 and Rs. 57000 for the Galaxy S7 Edge. The Galaxy S7 India release date for both variants will occur on the same day, and when looking at consumer interest internationally you can expect huge interest in the Indian market. US preorders of the S7 and S7 Edge are packed full of freebies including a new Gear VR and it’ll be interesting to see what preorder offers will be available in India.

When comparing the S6 and S6 Edge to the S7 and S7 Edge you’ll notice many visual similarities, but even more performance distinctions. Both the S7 and S7 Edge will boast a faster processor, improved camera specs, more battery life, increased RAM, and two of the biggest distinctions including expandable memory and an IP68 rating.

The lack of waterproof, dustproof, and a micro SD card slot in last year’s S6 left a sour taste in the mouth of many consumers which will be a thing of the past with the feature packed Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
